Overview

Since the dawn of civilization every society has been controlled by a small group of players. This is part of the human condition, and plays a part in the dynamics of every group, be it a congregation, a criminal organization, a company, or a classroom of young children. Despite the fact that each Player is only truly preoccupied with their own narrow self interest, in each social setting, they will congregate into a group, or tribe.

The Players’ dominance is orchestrated through a system of concealed maneuvers

which collectively form The Game.    They take the lion’s share of the spoils leaving the rest of mankind to fight over the crumbs.  Shrouded by an intricate web of myths, this Game is invisible to all but the inner circle. A kind of spell has been placed over society which induces society to view the world through a linear, dogmatic lens which is antithetical to our natural way of perceiving the world.

The Game skews the laws of natural selection. The Players, far from being the best and the brightest, are limited in their abilities as well as in their perspective.  This contra-selection has been the major barrier to real human progress since the beginning of time.  The Players’ pre-eminence effectively crowds out the thinkers and the doers- hampering productivity, stymieing creativity, and ultimately engulfing society in a shroud of apathy.

This book is a call to arms for every thinking man and woman to emancipate themselves from the yoke of the Game. In order to do this we must understand the nature of the Game and the players. Next, we must find another way of seeing the world and our place in it. Finally we must turn the tables on the players, so that instead of playing their game they are tricked into playing ours.

Life makes no promises.  The Game is blood sport, and the stakes are high. Despite this, it is still far better to play and lose, than never to have played at all. And if we must play, let us play well. Bon Joue!
