I very much appreciated your book "Have We Been Played?" It was a good read this morning. There is much philosophy in the book on how we conduct our lives. What happens with people is interesting. Players use other people and discard them when they are no longer of use. Players also associate with other players to here their own mantra. If you are a voice that dissents with the view then you are marginalized and removed from the playing field. Players are also opportunistic. They are always looking for the short term gain. Their decisions and actions have nothing to do with the common good. But they view that everyone should be after their own good and the results will carry by its own weight. They will abandon the present situation in a heartbeat if offered gain somewhere else. There is simply little humanity in the process.
Much could be written about each paragraph of your book and it brings to mind many events and actions throughout my life that I can relate to. But probably to the point it is a commentary on what kind of person an individual is. Are you one of humanity or one of winner take all. Are you a person of good moral and ethics or are ethics a thing you pay lip service to and just walk the line between criminal behavior and bad ethics? The entire American financial society elected to take the view that ethics do not matter. If you are walking the legal line that is sufficient. And no one felt they were in any way responsible. I love players. They are always looking for someone to be held accountable for the smallest of infractions. It makes them feared and empowers them. But when they commit errors resulting in people’s lives being turned upside down they feel no guilt and demand to be baled out of the consequences of their decisions.

After reading Have We Been Played? The Hidden Game Revealed, I was somewhere between shock and amazement. Hardy’s words rang true and resonated with me. As an entrepreneur, I could relate to the book. The business world is rarely as it seems, and Hardy stated that fact in an eloquent way with compelling arguments to back it up.
After reading the book, I came to the realization that life truly is a game, and we are being played. We are the victims of events that continue to occur around us, and we are nothing but pawns in the master game of life. The major players are manipulated events as the pawns are left to deal with the consequences.
The book touched on significant world events and explained how they were all part of the game. From Enron to the mortgage crisis, I now have a differnet insight into the world than ever before. This book gave new meaning to the idea that everything happens for a reason.
Have We Been Played reads like a true thriller. Sometimes reality is more frightening than fiction, and this book illustrates that point. When I put it down at night, I could not stop thinking about it. It haunted me, but it also inspired me. It inspired me to seek out change in any way I can. The book has made an impact on me that time will not wash away.
This book is perfect for anyone that wants insight into the events of the world. Those that are curious about the major players and want to know why things happen should pick this book up. It is a page turner that makes an impact.

… really helped me to connect the dots. I’ve met plenty of manipulators In my time, but I had never fully realized the extent to which they can influence our lives – both individually and as a group.

What a wakeup call! Anybody who is in the corporate jungle, or thinking of doing so, should read this book.
I’ve come across some very good books on narcissism but never one which gave the reader the practical workable ways to cope with these “Players”. Thank you, your book has helped me tremendously.
